Our Latest Grants: Dental for All & Repair Network Aotearoa

At Share Collective, we are all about equity at every level. Businesses donate equity (shares), and when those generate dividends or sale proceeds, we make grants to causes across Aotearoa to increase social equity. It's a way for the success of kiwi businesses to translate directly into stronger communities.

The grants we make are unconditional: no application process, no reporting requirements. The organisations we back know their own communities and their time is best spent getting on with their mahi.

We're pleased to highlight two organisations we're supporting, who are furthering equity through their inspiring and impactful work.

Dental for All

Dental for All is a campaign for free, universal oral healthcare in Aotearoa. Oral health is a critical component of wider health and wellbeing, but our public health system doesn’t cover most dental expenses for adults.

“More than 4 in 10 NZ adults report unmet need for dental care due to cost, with higher rates of unmet need for Māori, Pacific and disabled communities. Our current model does not uphold Te Tiriti o Waitangi and it leads to dental care being unaffordable and inaccessible. Dental for All is building a movement to transform how we treat oral health in Aotearoa, so that everyone can access the care that they need to be well.”

Dental for All is driven by a coalition of unions, health workers, public health organisations, and community advocates, with the day-to-day work campaign led by ActionStation. They are building a movement of supporters and building political pressure through activities like a nation-wide campaign roadshow.

A series of in-depth research reports lay out a strong case for change. 'The costs of inaction' found that the social, economic, and fiscal costs of lack of oral healthcare are huge. Lived-experience stories of people struggling to access the care they need show the felt impact. Case studies of alternative models from overseas show that another way is possible. And most recently, they published a policy plan to deliver dental care for all.

“Through all of this work we aim to shift the public conversation on dental, get it on the political agenda, and build up the people power to demand Dental for All from our political leaders at the 2026 election. We are really grateful for the support from Share Collective to continue this important mahi, getting us closer to making Dental for All a reality!”

Repair Network Aotearoa

Repair Network Aotearoa is building a movement that values longevity over landfill, leading the 'Right to Repair' movement. They connect local repair cafes, skilled fixers, and sustainability advocates across the country, making repair more accessible for everyone and advocating for legislative change. Their vision is that "made to last" becomes the standard once again.

“Whether you’re a lifelong tinkerer or someone who has never picked up a screwdriver, it’s not just about fixing a broken toaster or a torn pair of jeans. It’s about reclaiming the skills that allow us to be resourceful and resilient in our own communities. We live in a world that often feels designed to be ‘disposable’, where it’s easier to throw something away than to fix it. Repair Network Aotearoa is here to change that narrative. When we repair, we do more than save money—we reduce waste, lower our carbon footprint, and foster a sense of connection.”

This kaupapa works at multiple levels: backing the volunteers and repair cafés fixing things in local communities, sharing skills and resources through educators, tool libraries and makerspaces, and pushing for policy and Right to Repair law changes. Community-led and grounded in a commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi, it connects grassroots action to national systems change.
